Local Unified Central Alert System (LUCAS)

Jim Wells County and the City of Alice, in partnership with Blackboard Connect Inc., has instituted a regional notification system that will be able to send telephone notifications to residents and businesses within Jim Wells County impacted by, or in danger of being impacted by, an emergency or disaster. 

This system, called LUCAS, will be used by emergency response personnel to notify those homes and businesses at risk with information on the event and/or immediate action (such as a boil-water notice, missing child or evacuation notices) we are asking them to take. The system uses the database of landline numbers only to send a notification. If you have a Voice over IP (VoIP) or cellular telephone and would like to be notified over that device, or if you would like an email notification, you must register those telephone numbers and/or email address for use by the notification system. 

Please use only supported browsers when using LUCAS. Supported browsers are Internet Explorer 9 or above, Firefox Version 23 or above, and Google Chrome Version 18 or above.

  2. RFP for Alternate Ground Water Delivery

    The City of Alice is considering entering into a Reverse Osmosis Treatment 15-year contract to supplement the City's water supplies. This RFP is being made to identify basic costs per 1,000 gallons of water. Responses due as noted in the link below. RFP No 2020-0001
