Responsibilities
The City Clerk is entrusted with administration and coordination of municipal elections in accordance with the Texas Election Code, including City Council elections, as well as elections dealing with bond issues, referendums, initiatives, and revisions of the City Charter.
The City Clerk serves as the filing authority for campaign expense and contribution reports for officeholders and candidates for office and receives campaign finance reports from local candidates, officeholders, and political action committees as required by the Texas Ethics Commission.
Elections
Regular municipal elections are held the second Saturday in May in odd-numbered years. Information on the current regular Municipal election can be found here.
