Responsibilities
The City of Alice has a home rule Council-Manager form of government, with the City Clerk being one of the 10 full-time Council-approved positions.
The City Clerk is responsible for an array of services, including, but not limited to:
- Serving customers in the areas of:
- Research
- Certified documents
- Historical data
- Receipt of filing of Financial Disclosure Reports
- Processing and maintaining records of appointments to various Boards, Commissions and Committees
- Directing the administrative functions of the City Council
- Administrating and coordinating municipal elections
- Ensuring affirmative duties and legislative services
- Serving as custodian of the city corporate seal
- Coordinating the codification of the city ordinances into the City Code of Ordinances
- Receiving bids
- Posting legal notices and agendas
Goal
It is the goal of the Office of the City Clerk to provide prompt, efficient service to all citizens.
